Ok. First Post.

Too bad the founders of Frontiers didn’t keep using the name that first popped into their heads back in 1983: the “Cut the Crap” group. Greg Livingstone, who is the founder, says that he recruited the first team leaders in the same way David did in the Bible: “All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their leader” (1 Samuel 22:2). There were not many mighty in those early days, and even today “we all stumble in many ways” (James 3:2).

Frontiers is still a protest movement; we’re protesting to the church on behalf of a multitude of Muslims who will hear the good news of God the way Jesus said: “He who hears you hears me” (Luke 10:16). The good news of God is my Torah! I meditate on God day and night. By “meditating on God” I mean the God who revealed His covenant love in the Bible.

Did you know that five times in the Old Testament Jehovah God says, “I will be your God”?  Here are the references:

  • Exodus 6:6-7 — “I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I will take you as my people, and I will be your God. You shall know that I am the LORD your God, who has freed you from the burdens of the Egyptians.”
  • Jeremiah 7:23 — “but I gave them this command: ‘Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you.'”
  • Jeremiah 11:4 — “. . . the terms I commanded your forefathers when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.  I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God.’”
  • Jeremiah 30:22 — “So you will be my people, and I will be your God. ”
  • Ezekiel 36:28 — “You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God.”

A covenant-making, promise keeping God. This is the good news of the Old Testament, and Jesus Christ was sustained by His faith in God when Jesus desired God’s will more than his own at the crisis in the garden of Gethsemane where He was betrayed and arrested. Because Jesus Christ could be completely satisfied when He was going to die, knowing He had a heavenly Father who was all-powerful and who knew His needs, you too can and should and must also have this same faith. And this is the good news of God we testify to Muslims everywhere.

So when I read that there is a major religious founder, Mohammed, who forbids his followers from thinking about God as a Father, and threatens them with the death penalty if they pray “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name,” then I get madder than a right wing radio talk show host. I had to close my books, sell my possession, and go make the truth known to Muslims, and that is what I have done. More about all this in the posts to come.

By the way, I’m not planning to read your blog or anyone else’s, so if this blog is dull or if I’m too much of a hypocrite, you should do something you like better. I won’t be sharing personal information with you, such as what I watch on television (I don’t own a working television) or my exercise program (I get my exercise jumping to conclusions), so you probably won’t like this blog site. Ciao.
